The Lawtoons Universe

How we make the law want to be read

Every Lawtoons story starts where Pugloo does: confused. Each issue takes one real Indian law or right and dramatizes it through character and story rather than explaining it as a lecture, paired with a simple, high-contrast comic art style built around warm, familiar Indian family life. That combination, law woven into character, kept simple, and told as story, is what turns a legal concept into something a child remembers, rather than something they were merely told.

Pugloo

— the protagonist

A curious, ten-year-old boy from Ahmedabad who begins every story confused about a right or a law, and ends it enlightened. The heart of every issue.

Judgni

— the guide

A witty, larger-than-life spirit judge who lives inside the copy of the Constitution left to Pugloo by his grandfather. Visible only to Pugloo and Sinsin, Judgni teaches through questions and stories, never lectures.

Sinsin

— the companion

Pugloo’s loyal dog and the emotional anchor of every story, present in nearly every scene and grounding each legal lesson in something a child feels first.

Around them is a wider cast that makes each story feel lived-in: Dadi, Pugloo’s grandmother; his parents; his teachers and schoolfriends; and Dalpu, a friend from a far less privileged background whose storyline keeps the series honest about inequality, even as it stays warm and funny.
